Classification: Hexagonal bolts are mainly divided into iron bolts and stainless steel bolts according to their materials. Iron bolts are divided into grades, and the common ones are mainly grade 4.8, grade 8.8, and grade 12.9; stainless steel bolts are divided into stainless steel SUS201, SUS304, and SUS316 bolts according to their materials. In addition, hexagonal bolts are divided into hexagonal head bolts (partial thread)-grade C and hexagonal head bolts (full thread)-grade C, also known as hexagonal head bolts (rough), rough hexagonal head bolts, and black iron screws.
Standard: Commonly used hexagonal bolt standards can be found in SH3404, HG20613, HG20634, etc.
2. Structure and function
Structure: The hexagonal bolt consists of a head and a screw (a cylinder with external threads). The head is designed to be hexagonal, which is convenient for tightening with a wrench or a socket. The screw part is equipped with a nut for tightening two parts with through holes.
Function: The hexagonal bolt cooperates with the nut to achieve the fastening connection of the two parts. This type of connection is called bolt connection, which is a detachable connection.
3. Specifications and sizes

4. Performance grade
The performance grade of bolts for steel structure connection is divided into more than 10 grades, including 3.6, 4.6, 4.8, 5.6, 6.8, 8.8, 9.8, 10.9, and 12.9. Among them, bolts of grade 8.8 and above are made of low-carbon alloy steel or medium-carbon steel and are heat-treated (quenched and tempered), which are generally called high-strength bolts; the rest are generally called ordinary bolts.
The bolt performance grade number consists of two parts of numbers, which respectively represent the nominal tensile strength value and yield strength ratio of the bolt material. For example, the bolts with performance grade 4.6 mean: the nominal tensile strength of the bolt material reaches 400MPa; the yield strength ratio of the bolt material is 0.6; the nominal yield strength of the bolt material reaches 240MPa. The high-strength bolts with performance grade 10.9 can reach the nominal tensile strength of the bolt material of 1000MPa after heat treatment; the yield strength ratio of the bolt material is 0.9; the nominal yield strength of the bolt material reaches 900MPa.
5. Surface treatment
The surface treatment of hexagonal bolts is various, such as natural color, galvanizing, blackening, nickel plating, etc., to improve their corrosion resistance and aesthetics. Among them, the tin plating process is classified according to the pH value of the plating solution, which is divided into two categories: acidic plating solution process and alkaline tin plating process.
