Spherical roller bearings: have double-row rollers, a common spherical raceway on the outer ring, double raceways on the inner ring, can automatically align, adapt to the angle error between the shaft and the bearing housing or the shaft bending, can withstand radial and bidirectional axial loads, divided into cylindrical holes and tapered holes (taper 1:30 and 1:12), suitable for adapter sleeves or withdrawal sleeves. Self-aligning ball bearings: have cylindrical and tapered hole structures, the outer ring raceway is spherical, and can automatically align. Mainly bear radial loads, but also can bear small axial loads, the cage material is diverse, such as steel plate, synthetic resin. Common models such as 1206, 1308.
Automatic self-aligning: The core performance of the self-aligning bearing, relying on a special structure, automatically adjusts the position when the shaft or bearing seat has an angle deviation or deflection, ensures good contact between the raceway and the rolling element, reduces vibration and noise, and extends the life of the bearing.

Installation method: When the inner hole of the spherical roller bearing is a tapered hole, it can be directly installed on the tapered shaft neck, or installed on the cylindrical shaft neck with the help of a tightening sleeve or a withdrawal sleeve; the self-aligning ball bearing is similar. There are many precautions during installation, such as the need to use an intermediate mounting ring to prevent the outer ring from tilting when the self-aligning bearing is installed into the housing, and the inner and outer rings of the separable bearing are installed separately.
Clearance adjustment: The axial clearance of the spherical roller bearing installation can be adjusted by the shaft neck nut, gasket, seat hole thread or preload spring. Working conditions need to be considered, such as the effect of temperature rise on clearance under high load and high speed; no clearance or preload installation is adopted for low speed and vibration conditions, and the clearance is checked by a micrometer.
Material: High carbon chromium bearing steel (such as GCr15) is commonly used for inner and outer rings and rollers, and high hardness and wear resistance are obtained after heat treatment; the cage material is diverse, stamped steel cage is used for spherical roller bearings (such as suffix CC), and there are also brass machined (such as CA type spherical roller bearings), glass fiber reinforced polyamide 66 (such as TVPB suffix), synthetic resin (self-aligning ball bearings), etc.
